Strength of a man...

Some nice wordings, I came across, about the "Strength of a man" as below:

The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders. It's seen in the width of his arms that circle you.

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice. It's in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has. It's how good a buddy he is with his kids.

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work. It's in how respected he is at home.

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits. It's in how tender he touches.

The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest. It's in his Heart... that lies within his chest.

The strength of a man isn't how many women he's loved. It's in how he can be true to one woman.

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift. It's in the burdens he can carry....

Slumdog Millionaire: matter of proud or shame

Slumdog Millionaire: A movie that created the history, broke the records, won Oscars and brought (slums in) India to a great limelight! A movie country has mixed feelings about!

“We live in a slum that does not mean we are dogs.”

“It is a movie which has portrayed visual India that is never done in any movie before.”

I, personally, liked the movie a lot for two reasons. Firstly, the storyline emphasizes that life is all about destiny which is very true. Every event in our life brings us closer to our destiny and shapes us in a way that we become prepared to accept the same; howsoever good or bad it may be. Secondly, the movie reminds that majority of India is still living in abject poverty with absolutely no idea on what it means to be civilized, what it means to be developed and are struggling every moment to even survive. If this is how the current India looks, if this is how the show keeps on running; there would be no difference in the current India and the future India. The amazing performance of child “Latika” and “Salim”, who actually dwell in slums, proves that there is no dearth of potential in this nation. But the dearth is of opportunity and the right kind of environment to reap that potential. The movie should not be a matter of shame but a matter of concern and make us ponder upon the moot problem that deprives our masses of even their basic necessities and rights. Who is responsible for our nation’s plight? Why we are not developed even if not advanced? Why are own country can not give us all that we want?
The ‘reel Slumdog Millionaire’ is the ‘real India’. We should better do something about it than accepting the bitter truth that deprives the most children, in India, of the kind of life they deserve to live.
If every slumdog can not be millionaire then he does not deserve to live like a dog in a slum either.
